I am wondering about Charmin's Costco product. It was fine until the last time I purchased it, about two weeks ago. Where the roll used to 'fill' my dispenser side to side, now there is a lot of metal spool showing on either side. The sheets are smaller all over, and, although I didn't pay attention to the number of sheets, I wouldn't be surprised if they are less now also. Seems like a roll that might last a week or so now only lasts half that time. Anybody else see the shortening effect??

Thank you for your site Edgar! Well! They've shrunk SCOTT TISSUE in thinness for some time but now EVEN THEY have succumbed!! I am 59 yrs old. Big companies used to try and raise prices in the 50's and the American people would stop buying the product THAT SAME DAY.By the next morning the price came back to normal and they gave you an extra " to boot" Everyone heard because the media was better at reporting, and also, people weren't use to getting ripped -off,so that helped to get people riled and "pissed off". Why don't people do this today? Maybe they are afraid to try because no one will listen? But have they tried? NO!

DID ANYONE NOTICE THAT QUANTITY HAS CHANGED?
The good old people at Charmin probably not wanting to increase pricing on their packaged toilet tissue have resorted to renaming them and reducing the quantity of sheets by a whopping 22 percent!!!!!!

Yep the old “regular size 100 sheet roll is now 88 sheets ,and the Double roll [used to be called big roll] was 200 sheets is now 176!!!!! If you are lucky you might find some of the older stock in the store before its replenished with the new packages.

So maybe they think that no one would notice. But there you go, another manufacturer either reducing quantity and/or increasing prices.

All I can say that has been said, is they could have lowered their price rather than reduce the size of the rolls width rather than shrink the width so that now it is very obvious that they are down sizing and making rolls that do not match the millions of toilet paper rollers already installed in our homes. Very poor marking choice. I THINK ALL THE MANUFACTURES SHOULD GET TOGETHER AND AGREE TO BRING BACK THE OLD WIDTH AND RAISE THERE PRICE TO MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE. WHAT WOULD THAT BE THREE MORE CENTS A ROLL???? Let the marketing people get their head out of where there toilet paper goes and do the right thing.

P&G has been ripping us for years for the various Charmin toilet tissue sizes, Bounty towels, and many other household products - Consumer Affairs give us stupid remarks when we ask them about the decrease in detergent bottle content using the same size bottles, etc.-and less paper goods for more money. Charmin tissue is labeled "Big" when it's the smallest size they sell. It's a Marketing tatic and they do it because of their goals -if they don't do it, they'll get a lower bonus and, if they do, the executives will get a bigger bonus. It's American Greed!!! In addition to the stupid remarks to our complaints, they apologize "for our disappointment" and say they'll send us free coupons. We don't want free coupons P&G, we want you to be honest and stop giving us these less product for more money. Can't you stop being so greedy???
Where on earth is the U.S. Weights and Measures Department, and what are they doing for their money? We, consumers, aren't stupid - and we are watching what you do to continue to rip off the consuming public!!!
