You’ve probably seen the ads for Homeaglow — the home cleaning service that claims to charge just $19 for the first cleaning.
To add credibility to their company, their tout a very high 4.8 star rating from TrustPilot.

However, when eagle-eyed reader David B. checked the TrustPilot website, the real rating was revealed.
*Mouse Print:

It got only 1.3 stars, not the almost five stars claimed on the company’s website.
And a synopsis of those almost two thousand reviews (not the over six thousand that Homeaglow touted) suggests the company is not delivering what it promised.
Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers express significant dissatisfaction with the service, frequently citing issues with pricing, subscriptions, and cancellations. Many consumers feel misled by hidden fees and unexpected charges, particularly concerning a recurring membership they were not aware of upon initial sign-up.
We asked the company for an explanation of how they could be claiming a near-perfect 4.8 rating from TrustPilot when the actual TrustPilot site gives them a failing grade. They did not respond.
So the Homeaglow company is hoping the people going to the website are so lazy they will not check the official trustpilot website to make sure that rating is even close to being correct.
1.3 is far less than 4.8 here.
The company’s conduct is disgraceful, but who would actually think you’d get quality work for $19? You get what you pay for.
You’d be surprised how many do. Yes, we live in that world
Anyone who thinks $19.00 would cover a house cleaning would buy a bridge.
This is beyond just shady advertising, TrustPilot should sue HomeAGlow over this commercial because this is libel.
TrustPilot’s own reputation here could be damaged if HomeAGlow is advertising a high trust rating from TrustPilot and then delivering a severely negative experience. This also feels ripe for a class action lawsuit.
TINA.org actually exposed the fake review issue in its 2025 FTC complaint about Homeaglow. Trustpilot reviewed and updated the rating after we reached out. Homeaglow has not made the necessary updates (but that might be the least of its problems!).

based on that link the whole company must shut down…
OMG!!!! I was just looking at this website for house cleaning. Glad I came here first.
They need to clean up their own act before taking on any houses…
I’m shocked. An advertiser would be dishonest. Whoda thunk it.
Homeaglow is a tremendous scam but yes we live in that world now where these things just run amok and everything done to try to stop them doesn’t work. This is happening on every level now and in every arena. It’s very depressing.
