Nuggs: Fake Chicken Nuggets With a Funny Bone

Just in time for April Fools’ Day this week, a company called Simulate has created a catchy slogan to promote their plant-based chicken nuggets.

Nuggs

Since chicken nuggets are not exactly a health food even if plant-based, the company just comes right out and says it in big type:

  1. Plant based protein is a weird subject. I don’t really understand why we’re trying to imitate meat with plants, why not just make different, but tasty plant foods like black bean burgers etc.?

    • imo,it all goes back to corporate greed, they want to sell their product to as many people as possible. (using the “health” gimmick)

    • The reason to imitate meats is to try to sell the product to meat eaters, perhaps environmentally conscious meat eaters, or meat eaters that don’t like how animals are tortured during food production. It’s a strategy that can be executed alongside creating new and exciting plant-based foods for vegetarians and vegans. But no need to limit oneself to just that small market.

Impossible Foods specifically is targeting meat eaters because of the damage to the environment they see traditional meat production causes, and their mission is to be so successful that traditional meat production completely ceases.

      • I tried an Impossible burger at Applebee’s out of curiosity. I would have no trouble substituting that for a hamburger. It was pretty tasty.
